Help us replace our broken VEO camera

At the end of October during one of our matches, our VEO camera was blown over in strong winds. The impact as the camera landed on a concrete walkway meant that our VEO camera was damaged badly, with a cost of repair quoted at £450.

The VEO camera has become a huge part of the club, as it's allowed us to capture footage for all manner of reasons:

  • Enabling tactical analysis for all teams

  • Filming youth games and tournaments

  • Enabling coaches to progress with their coaching badges

  • First team highlights for supporters of the Mens and Womens teams (home and away).

A simple system that had bought so much to the club whether that's for youth coaching up to the senior teams. If you attend our matches you would have seen the little box up high on the tripods.

(Our existing VEO is battered, bruised and the ports have all been broken)

How we’ll spend the money raised

The aim is to raise enough to either 1) repair the existing VEO or 2) replace with the new VEO 2 system. The new VEO 2 will enable us to offer all the existing benefits back to the clubs involved. Plus the new features of being able to offer live streaming to our communities, plus the new design ensures less water droplets forming on the lenses and greater protection against damage. We would love to be able to show matches such as our Womens teams, Under 18s and where possible Mens football matches live on the internet for all to enjoy.

But ultimately, if we can raise enough to cover the repair of the original VEO that will be fantastic.

We would love to be in a position where we could afford to pay for the VEO system again ourselves, but in these times where additional budgets are not available and the cost of living crisis is hitting crowd numbers. The destruction of the existing VEO has come at a bad time for everyone involved.

What will you get if you donate?

We're looking for 120 people to donate £10 or more if you can. We'll also look to recognise your support within the ground if you pledge £10 or more.

If someone generous comes and wants to "pay the lot" - we'll make sure that any money raised above and beyond goes into our supporter and community programmes such as tickets for low income families and school children.

Hi, I hope you've put together enough money to buy a new one, as I think £450-500 to repair an item that now costs £500 new isn't worth it.

Currently our club also dropped our camera due to high winds, however we have a parent who has identified the problem and believes he can fix it if we can get the parts. However, Veo charge us a flat fee of £500 whatever the problem and they already said they wouldn't provide us with any spares.

So, I was wondering if you have raised enough money to buy a new one, maybe you are interested in selling your broken tube to our club for parts and hopefully we can fix ours.
