We are delighted to announce that manager Danny Greaves. has signed a new 2 year extension to his management contract with Frome Town F.C. Danny will remain with the club until the end of the 2021/22 season, following the extension to the existing agreement due to end this summer.
Danny has been instrumental in taking on a new approach to our squad and our style of play, that has been evident over the last two years and most importantly this last season. Where Danny has created a team full of passing and attacking flair to win football matches but also entertain our supporters. For those around the club you will know that Danny has taken the time to fully integrate himself with the board and our supporters making himself a popular figure in the dugout.
Gary Collinson, Operations Director commented: "Danny has been excellent from the beginning, he joined the club at a difficult time and understood the challenges the club has as we look to the future and to realise the huge potential of the club. Danny did everything last season possible to avoid relegation, there was no one more dedicated to the cause. The belief the club has in Danny is that we hope he is here for years to come and that our ambitions remain aligned. We know that Danny would have an array of suitors if the situation changed. So we are delighted Danny has agreed to extend his time at Badger's Hill.
Danny Greaves commented: "I'm really pleased to have committed myself to the club. We wanted to do this to show I am committed to the club and the board are committed to myself and the rest of my management team.
"When I first joined the club in the summer 2 years ago, myself and the board set out a vision and a long term plan. We knew the first season was going to be extremely tough, and while getting relegated wasn't part of that plan, we didn't lose sight of what we were all trying to build long term.
"Although last season was on the whole a disappointing one, I think people could see the principles and values we were trying to put in place and install not only in the players but into the whole club.
"With a full summer to plan and rebuild, both on and off the field, I think that process really came together. There was a real feel good factor running through the club and that went from strength to strength through the season. We have a fantastic group of players, a great set of honest lads who have worked incredibly hard over the last 12 months, and through my early conversations the majority will be back to build on the job we had started.
"I have mentioned time and time again, the level of support I have received from the board, and the supporters has been second to none. In the last week especially we have seen what this club and community is all about. With everyone pulling together in the same direction this has the potential to be a real powerful football club.
"We started building something 2 years ago. Sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward again. We came very close to success on the pitch this season, but more importantly the foundations have been laid, and now it's time for us to come together more than ever and build on those" Watch:
