Danny Greaves - 5 years

As Danny Greaves enters his fifth full season, this week marks 5 years since Danny's appointment back in 2018. Thank you Danny and congratulations for reaching this landmark.

Danny Greaves joined the club at a point where the club's future was at risk, where Danny had the unenviable position of overseeing our relegation from the Southern Premier league - as we financially struggled to compete at those levels. Since that point Danny has built squads that have been the envy of many and seen us achieve a reputation of free flowing attacking and entertaining football. These have been showcased by our strong performances in the league and cups over the last few seasons. With a strong title challenge against Thatcham, that many believe would have ended up in a top place finish in the first COVID impacted season. Followed by a FA Cup run that saw us take on the likes of Poole Town, Oxford City and Bath City. Then another title challenge, as we led the league at Christmas before being pipped at the line by a stunning run from Plymouth Parkway. Last season saw the team riddled by injuries - starting on the opening day - which lead to a disjointed season where we narrowly missed out on the playoffs on the final day. Danny's continued to do more for the club off the field, coming to the club's aid as our Financial Director for 3 seasons and more recently Director of Football activities. During this time Danny has ensured the club has been run without loses and with stability. Prior to his board appointment, Danny played a crucial part in our successful Crowdfunder raise of £20,000, to see the club navigate the impact of Covid. Danny remains central to all our football activities, supporting the development of local coaches within our Frome Town community, as well as his personal involvement in initiatives with youth football in the local community. The club would like to thank Danny and his family for all the commitment that he continues to show for our club.

Danny Greaves commented last month, "Everybody is aware how proud and privileged I am to be leading club, and I am delighted to be doing so again next season. The Board have always been really supportive, and I want to repay their faith in me. It’s fair to say we have under achieved this season, irrespective of the reasons, but this has made me even more determined to put this right next season. I think we have shown over the 3 previous years in this division, myself and the management team know what it requires to compete at the top end of this league. I think we have the basis of a very good side, with some excellent young talent coming through. With some additions and the return of injured players, coupled with some exciting off pitch projects, I am already excited for what the future holds for this football club."
