We are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder Owen Humphries from Larkhall Athletic.
Owen, 19, has caught the eye since his Southern League debut with Mangotsfield due to his speed with the ball and creativity. Which saw a move to Larkhall last season. Owen has subsequently been invited to trials at a number of football league clubs. We are delighted to have been able to secure Owen's services at this stage of his developing career.
In Owen's career, he has already racked up 30 league appearances at this level, including a standout performance at the Hill that saw many fans take note, as Larkhall took the lead on 85 minutes only for us to secured a late equaliser to gain a point.
Owen commented, "I’m delighted to join the club as it has a great setup and is a well run club. I feel that the style of the play suits me perfectly to how I play. I’m really excited to start and hopefully hit the ground running straight away.."
Manager Danny Greaves stated, "I am excited to be bringing Owen into the club, I think he will be one the supporters will enjoy watching. Owen is an exciting attacking player who has attracted a lot of interest from a number of professional clubs over the past 12 months including trials with Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City. He stood out when we played against Larkhall last season, not only for his clear technical ability, but also for his maturity beyond his year and presence on the pitch. I think the lad has a brilliant future and I am delighted he has chosen Frome to help him onto the next step of his journey."
