Frome Town bagged a valuable point on the road at play-off chasing Walton & Hersham with Callum Gould’s second-half strike giving the Robins the lead, before they equalised via a penalty from Johl Powell.
It was perhaps a bad time to play the Swans, as they were the form team in the league heading into the clash, but this group showed once again, that they’re more than capable of competing with the best sides in the league.

The contest started very openly, with both sides enjoying early spell’s of possession and creating chances in the first ten minutes.
The hosts had their first big chance in the 11th minute when Ralph Vigrass was slipped through, but one on one with Kyle Phillips, his effort somehow bounced off the inside of the post and out.
The hosts remained on top but a forced change in the 25th minute wobbled them after Dawid Rogalski was replaced by Thani Kuaho
Frome grew into the game and Alex Monks had a good chance in the 30th minute, Following a short corner, the ball was worked to him on the edge of the box and despite making a meal out of his first effort, his second on his left foot was much better, but comfortable for Jos Barker
Six minutes later, Rex Mannings did brilliantly down the left, fizzing a ball into the box which reached Gould but he couldn’t keep his effort down.
Danny Greaves men then had Phillips to thank twice at the end of the half, he made a big save in the 42nd minute after Powell fired a shot from a tight angle towards the bottom corner, which he managed to tip past the post. Three minutes later, Mason Obeng, who looked particularly dangerous down the left, raced forward, before cutting in and forcing another quality save out of Phillips, with the follow up from Vigrass fired into the side netting.
Unlike in the Sholing game a week prior, Frome withstood the late first half pressure and went into the break level, knowing they’d need to match the same intensity in the second half if they wanted to get anything from the game.
They didn’t just that and were rewarded in the 61st minute, following a brilliant bit of play down the left, the ball was fizzed across the box from Sam Heal, where Gould was on hand to tap home from a yard out to put the visitors in front.
What followed was a relentless pile on from the hosts, who really showed their quality in the final 25 minutes, but not everything fell their way.
New signing Bobby-Joe Taylor pulled back for Jennings in the 70th minute, but somehow he dragged his effort wide of the right hand post.
Four minutes later, Warren Maidment was adjudged to have fouled in the box, and the Swans were awarded a penalty which was dispatched calmly by Powell to bring his side level.
The home side continued to pile the pressure on, Taylor fired a fierce effort from range in the 78th minute but his shot was comfortably held by Phillips.
Despite further late pressure, Frome held their own, avoiding a Walton & Hersham turn around and late goal which many sides have failed to do in the league this season.
Next up it’s Gosport back at home on Tuesday, once again we’ll need you to get behind the boys under the lights and help push us on.

Nice one Harrison,
So, another excellent away result and very importantly another point towards safety. Sounds like it was a backs to the wall, Alamo, John Wayne esque ‘True Grit performance at times?
There’s a clear pecking order in this league for everyone, and I’ve no doubt money plays a big part in that?
We’ve now played 12 games against teams in the top eight and got six very credible draws.
But we haven’t a win against any of them and have only scored four goals in all those games and are still one of the lowest scorers in the league.
All of our wins have been against teams, tenth and below and we have two of them next week.…
