Head of Analysis Tom Bond Departs Ahead of 25/26 Season

We thank Tom for all of his hard work over the years!

Tom 'Bondy' Bond, one of our coaches and Head of Analysis, will be leaving the West Country to start afresh in the North. Having been part of Danny Greaves' staff since August 2020, his stint in the current management set-up saw us challenge consistently at Step 4 and gain promotion.

On one celebrated occasion in February 2023, Bondy and the recently-retired George Rigg masterminded a 3-0 victory over Wimborne at Badgers Hill. It is believed that both co-managers are the only two examples of a 100% win rate at the helm of Frome Town.

After a five-year stint in the role, logging and providing statistics, data and analysis, Bondy wrote a letter to the club:

Dear Frome Town Football Club,

So that is that. After my last game and five seasons, my time at FTFC comes to an end.

It's hard to put into words what this football club means to me. From watching and supporting this Club as a young boy; a curtailed season and a couple where we missed out on promotion; co-managing a game with Riggy; a top-three finish and a cup semi-final with the women's team; the FA Cup and Trophy runs; a promotion; a cup final; and to a relegation. I have had every emotion, every high and every low football can give.

This has been my happy place for five years. But it's time to move on.

A huge thank you to Danny Greaves and Neil Simons for allowing me the opportunity to grow, to learn and to be a part of this amazing club. Thank you every player I worked with. Thanks to Derek Graham for being the very best chairman you could ask for, Gary Collinson and Dave Parry for the chats and advice, and Basher for all the lifts, car journeys and making me your "Assistant Kit-Man". And, of course, thank you to all the supporters and volunteers for everything you do and making this Club what it is. Without you, we would be nothing.

As a Frome boy, being part of this club has been an absolute dream come true.

Winning the play-off Final last year will forever be one of the best days of my life. My biggest regret being that we couldn't stay up this year. However, I have full faith that this group can come straight back up and put the club where it belongs.

So to everyone at Frome Town Football Club, thank you!

Bondy

Up the Dodge!

Manager, Danny Greaves, praised his coach:

"Bondy is a true unsung hero, working as hard as he does behind the scenes and often going above and beyond his job role. We were one of the first clubs at our level to introduce analysis and opposition analysis and this has evolved and improved over the years where we now have real-time in-match statistics to inform our decision-making and provide the players with half-time analysis. He has stepped up to assist in training sessions, and run matchday warm-ups, and even led the team on one occasion (yes a 100% record, 1 played and 1 won!)

"As mentioned, he will go over and beyond and his videography skills are second to none, often pulling together great motivational video reviews. He is always on the end of the phone when I need some quick analysis at the very last minute, opposition video clipped, or presentations built - that's fairly often! He has been a great servant for the club, always on a voluntary basis, and I would like to personally thank him for all he has done, and wish him well for the future."

A huge thank-you from all at the club to Tom! Good luck, all the best and we hope to catch up at Badgers Hill in the near future!
