A goal from Brendan Matthew damaged The Robins survival hopes as Beaconsfield Town secured a 1-0 victory at Badgers Hill.
Manager Danny Greaves named an unchanged side after his team so valiantly lost 3-2 against Farnborough at the weekend.
The Robins had their first chance on seven minutes as a speculative ball forward is brilliantly brought down by Rex Mannings before his shot towards goal hits the post.
Two powerful long shots on target from Ollie Knowles and Troy Simpson warmed the palms of the Beaconsfield ‘keeper as the home side started to control the game.
The visitors took the lead on the 21st minute after striker Brendan Matthew suddenly found himself free in the area before rounding Rob Brown and slotting the ball home.
Ryan Bath nearly gave The Robins an equaliser just before half-time after he headed Joe O’Loughlin’s throw-in towards goal but his effort comes off back off the bar.
The second half started in a rather cagey manner with neither side lacking the key element to unlock each other’s defence.
Ten minutes after the restart, Simpson would find himself free in the area but didn’t have enough guile to get the ball past the visiting keeper.
Greaves made a couple of changes just after the hour mark. On-loan Bristol City midfielder Ryley Towler made his debut replacing Dan Whitley, while Johnny Gorman came on for Ollie Knowles.
A half with a dearth of chances and energy started to meander towards its final stages, Greaves made his final roll of the dice with ten minutes left on the clock by bringing on forward Cameron Allen for defender Rich Dawley.
The Robins couldn’t break the Beaconsfield defence and had to settle for another disappointing evening at Badgers Hill.
THE ROBINS XI: Brown, Dawley (Allen 78’), O'Loughlin, Mehew, Low, Roberts (C), Whitley (Towler 66’), Knowles (Gorman 66’), Simpson, Bath, Mannings.
