Marcus Day Departs

We are sad to announce the departure of forward Marcus Day who has returned to his parent club, Taunton Town.

Marcus made a total of eight appearances for Frome, scoring a couple of goals including a late winner against Exmouth Town. We thank him for his efforts while on loan in BA11 and wish him the best of luck for the rest of the season.

Danny Greaves reflected on Marcus' time at Badgers Hill: "Disappointed to see the loan come to an end. I think we were yet to see the very best of him, but you could see his performances improve as he gained match fitness and he was looking a real threat.

With Reece Rusher injured long term, Ross Staley returning from injury and regaining match fitness, Zak Drew carrying a knock, Caleb Summerfield recovering from a broken foot and Thomas Duffin returning to the US for a short period, it was an important short term addition to bolster that position in wide areas.

The loan served a purpose and was a win, win for all 3 parties concerned as he scored some important goals and contributed in the month whilst gaining fitness. He will now go back to Taunton to fight for a place in their team.

We now have Staley up to speed, Drew has fully recovered from his niggle, Summerfield has returned, and Duffin back from the US, whilst Rusher is still a few weeks away, so have good numbers in that position.

I would like to thank Rob Dray and Taunton for their help in allowing Marcus to come to Frome, and also Marcus for his professionalism and attitude which was first class."

He did a really fine job for us didn't he, and looks a very good player. He found playing at our level absolutely no problem at all.

His first game back at Taunton was in the derby game at Yeovil which drew an amazing crowd of 6,300. Unfortunately, Taunton lost that one 4-1 and Marcus came off at half time.

Can''t wait to get Reece Rusher back in our side. as he's such a match winner for us and with him fit and in the side, I'd be much more confident of getting into the play offs even though we've performed very well in his absence I have to say. That's going to be a bit of a head …
