Danny Greaves commits to next season

The Board of Directors are delighted that Danny Greaves and his coaching staff have accepted their invitation to remain as the management team for the 23-24 season.

Danny Greaves enters his fifth full season with the club following his appointment in 2018.

Chairman Derek Graham stated, "I'm pleased to confirm that Danny will be leading us into next season. We know this will give clarity to allow Danny to hold conversations with new and existing players to build for the next campaign. Danny took over the club five years ago in really difficult circumstances, where he’s overseen a rebuild of the team, and successfully led us to three good years at the top of the league and challenging for promotion. This season has been a constant challenge, with the unprecedented number of long-term injuries that have besieged the squad and an ever changing fixture schedule. Alongside the well documented issues around the financial restrictions this season, the creation of the CBS and Danny's support on managing our finances through these times. However, with a more positive future off the field on the horizon, I have no doubt Danny is the right man to continue to take this club forward on the field."

Danny Greaves commented, "Everybody is aware how proud and privileged I am to be leading club, and I am delighted to be doing so again next season. The Board have always been really supportive, and I want to repay their faith in me. It’s fair to say we have under achieved this season, irrespective of the reasons, but this has made me even more determined to put this right next season. I think we have shown over the 3 previous years in this division, myself and the management team know what it requires to compete at the top end of this league. I think we have the basis of a very good side, with some excellent young talent coming through. With some additions and the return of injured players, coupled with some exciting off pitch projects, I am already excited for what the future holds for this football club."

The club can confirm that Assistant Manager Neil Simons, coach Simon Monks and goalkeeping coach Alan Bull with also be staying with the club for the upcoming season.

Well done Greavsey, you thoroughly deserve to be the highest paid Southern League manager...

in BA11 . We had a bit of a mid season crisis ( Exmouth 0-5) and a plague of injuries but he showed more 'True Grit' than John Wayne and somehow kept his squad focused and running, just like Forest Gump - if we do finish just outside the play offs that will be a considerable achievement all things considered.
