New-Look Management Team Announced Ahead of 25/26 Season

Three new names join the BA11 'Boot Room'!

With a significant amount of the on-pitch preparations complete and a 19-man squad assembled for the upcoming campaign, the attention now turns to the Management Team who will be responsible for leading that group of players to what everyone hopes will be a successful season.

We are pleased to announce Danny Greaves has made three significant appointments to his staff. Firstly, Craig Loxton joins the club as Head Coach. Craig joins the club with significant managerial experience at Shepton Mallet, Paulton Rovers and Wells City, as well as a successful playing career, having progressing through the ranks at Bristol City before playing for the likes of Clevedon Town and Paulton Rovers in the Southern League.

The second addition to the team is Kurt James who joins the club as First Team Coach. Kurt has held a similar role at Westbury United over the past few years, having transitioned from player to coach, and he has been a key part of the White Horse Men’s progression during that time.

Last, but by no means least, we welcome Fin Hopkins to the club as Head of Analysis. He is currently studying Sports Performance Analysis at Cardiff Metropolitan University, and this placement will benefit both parties. The trio of new appointments will join the current team of Neil Simons, Tom Dalby, Lee Salter and Shaun Baker (Basher) under the leadership of Danny Greaves.

Danny Greaves had this to say on the recent appointments. "As I said when we announced the departure of Tom Bond, Monksy, and Alan Bull, whilst it is sad to lose great people who have worked so hard and supported me over the years, it opens up an opportunity to refresh the team with some new energy and fresh ideas.

"I am a big believer in the saying ‘you are are only as good as the team around you’, and I truly believe we have a great backroom team in place to lead us into the new season. I played with Locko at Clevedon and know what a driven, professional, hardworking and dedicating man he is when it comes to his football. His experience as a manager, coach and player will be invaluable to us this season.

"Kurt played for me at Bradford Town and has since transitioned into the coaching side of the game. He has worked incredibly hard over the past few seasons over at Westbury, and brings a lot to the table. He is another one who is extremely keen to work hard, and be successful for himself, but, more importantly, the team, and those are the qualities we want around the group.

"I was surprised at the level of interest we received when we advertised the Head of Analysis vacancy. We narrowed it down and carried out interviews with a couple of excellent candidates, but Fin shone through with his personality, knowledge, ambition, and the fact he is a local Frome lad was an added bonus. You might recognise the name...!"

On his appointment in BA11, Craig Loxton said "I’m really happy to be joining Frome, it’s a club that I’ve always had a lot of respect for and one of the biggest in the area. After speaking with Danny over the off-season, I know how hard he and the staff have been working to make this year a positive one. It’s a new challenge that I’m excited for and I’m extremely motivated to help the club have a successful season."

Kurt James also expressed his excitement: "I'm really excited to be here and I’m looking forward to working with Danny, Simmo and Lox. After some really positive discussions with them recently, it was clear that this isn’t a club looking to stand still. With hopefully some more positive news around the corner, it was a no brainer for me to take this opportunity and new challenge.

"Frome Town is a huge football club on the local circuit and, having kept in contact with Danny over the years, I know the commitment, time and work ethic being here will require and I can’t wait to meet the players and get started."

On joining his local side, Fin Hopkins said, "I'm delighted to come on board for the upcoming season and hopefully I’ll be able to help the team in anyway possible for a title charge!"

There remains one outstanding vacancy, so if you are interested in joining the team as Goalkeeping Coach, please contact the club on manager@frometownafc.co.uk.

We wish our new staff all the best ahead of their first season with the Club and look forward to seeing the results of their hard work!
