We thank Harrison for all of his hard work over the past couple of seasons!
Harrison Richards, our Match Reporter since October 2023, will be graduating from Southampton Solent University this summer with a degree in Sports Journalism. He is looking to enter the world of club media and sports reporting after completing his studies and will, sadly, be calling it a day at Badgers Hill.

Joining midway through the 23/24 season to cover our games, Harrison was a fixture behind the laptop throughout the thrilling climax of our promotion and has hardly missed a game this term. He will have totalled 67 games in his stint as Match Reporter!
One example of his commitment came on New Years' Day this year when he and his father, coming from Croydon, were within twenty minutes of Taunton before the fixture was postponed. It goes without saying that the Club would be nowhere without that sort of dedication to the non-league cause, which we see from so many of our volunteers.
Harrison said of his tenure:
"Being match-day reporter and working on the social media for the last year and a half at Frome has been an incredible experience. Not only has it helped me develop my skills in the industry I want to work in, but also as a person. There are so many great people at the club, I don’t like to pick individuals, because everyone at the club has been so great, but special mentions to David Parry for all the lifts, Zeb for getting me into the role and Danny Greaves for putting up with all my questions after games.
"I had no idea what Frome was when I started my role, I couldn’t even pronounce the name correctly for the first few months, but I honestly could not have asked for a better club to be associated with. I certainly didn’t think our first season would end with promotion, especially after my first game, a 3-2 defeat at Bashley. It was an incredible campaign to be a part of, that last-minute Jon Davies free-kick at Westbury and obviously winning the play-off final against Bristol Manor Farm will be memories that I hold forever.
"This season obviously hasn’t been the one we wanted, but, regardless, I wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else and that win away at Winchester City, for personal reasons, is still a highlight! Although Plymouth Parkway will be my last game reporting at the club, I am sure it will not be the last time I watch Frome Town play. Once again, thank you to all the management team, players, the board, volunteers and fans and everyone else who has made this such an incredible time.”
Director of Communications, Zeb Baker-Smith, expressed his gratitude:
"Just on a personal level, I was extremely grateful for Harrison and the way he slotted into the hotseat eighteen months ago. In sport, there is always talk about leaving 'the shirt' in a better place, and to say he has thrived in the matchday reporting role is understating it. Coming up with new ideas for graphics, incorporating a 'live' matchday experience for those not at the game, whether via images, video and mic-ing up the dugout - everybody at the club is hugely grateful for the time and effort he has put in.
"Despite commuting from Southampton, no journey (not even Mousehole last year!) has ever proved too much for him. To balance a voluntary role with his university commitments is testament to his work ethic and willingness to do his best for the club. We'll miss him immensely, but we look forward to welcoming him back to Badgers Hill soon!"
Manager, Danny Greaves, also paid tribute:
"It's been a pleasure to work with Harrison for the past couple of seasons. I remember his first interview, and it is a credit to him how he has grown so much in a short space of time. His dedication to the club, travelling from Southampton to home and away games on a voluntary basis, is unbelievable.
"It's always easier doing his role in an exciting season like last year when we won the majority of games and sealed promotion, but more challenging this current season. He has had to write updates and match reports over the past season, but always does so in a balanced way and paints an unbiased picture for our supporters, asking the tricky post-match questions that need answering. He has, along with others, taken the matchday content to a new level, and he will be very much missed."
A huge thank-you from all at the club to Harrison! Good luck, all the best and we hope to catch up at Badgers Hill in the near future!

Harrison leaving feels like the end of an era. His reports always added emotion to every match like reading a story unfold. Funny enough, his style inspired me to submit my manuscript to one of the top romance publishing companies. Sports and love more connected than we think!
