Frome Town vs. Mousehole: Preview

Steve Jupp, BA11's Club Historian, mulls over this weekend's high-profile joust in the play-off positions!

After SIX Saturdays in a row of cup action, Danny Greaves' rampant Robins face a top-drawer Southern League Division One South encounter this weekend with the visit of Cornish new boys Mousehole to Badgers Hill.

The Seagulls, who will have journeyed just short of two hundred miles from the western tip of the mainland, are the only unbeaten side in the Division, although they did taste defeat last week in the FA Trophy at Larkhall.

They have made rapid progress up the non-league pyramid and, as recently as 2019, competed at Step 7. Three promotions later, including winning the Western League title last term with just two losses, sees them making their debut at Step 4 with an impressive tally of 17 goals in their opening half-dozen games.

Frome themselves are not shy in front of goal and the faithful have been well and truly spoilt this past week, witnessing the opposition net bulge TWELVE times in the last THREE halves of football -what are the odds on a nil-nil on Saturday?

With an unbeaten home run now stretching to TEN matches, the Hill is fast-becoming a fortress once more, a vital ingredient for a successful season.

It's fifth against third, it has a big game feel and entertainment is highly likely!
