Frome Town vs. Dorchester Town: Preview and Ticket Info

Steve Jupp, BA11's Club Historian, contemplates our Good Friday clash.
It’s not easy being a Frome Town fan these days, especially after suffering the frustration of FIVE one-nil defeats on the spin. Close, but not quite close enough.
Following the latest near miss last weekend at Swindon Supermarine, the Scarlet Runners languish five points adrift of safety with only three fixtures to play and the first of these is a daunting one with the visit of promotion-chasing Dorchester Town to Badgers Hill on Good Friday.

The Magpies pulled off a vital victory last week over Walton & Hersham to move into fifth spot, just a single point clear of play-off rivals Havant & Waterlooville who were held 1-1 at Taunton.
They are, without doubt, the division’s draw specialists, particularly on the road where they have shared the spoils an eye-opening THIRTEEN times in nineteen trips. No side in the league has lost fewer away games yet only Marlow (with two) have registered fewer wins on opposition soil. Perhaps there is a way for The Robins to end that barren run.
It was a day to forget when the teams met at the Avenue Stadium back in September with Frome never recovering from going two down as early as the eighth minute. A pair of red cards and an eventual 4-0 mauling made for a miserable afternoon in Dorset.

A couple of games ago, a target of seven points from the remaining matches for survival was mentioned but even a final total of 44 may not be enough to avoid the drop.
The odds are long and the prospects bleak, but the Badgers Hill faithful would love to see their side finish the season with a flourish, whatever their final position. That joyous feeling of celebrating a goal - please bring it back!

The fans will need no reminding that if results go against us this this weekend ( Fri & Sat ) we could well be relegated by Sunday with two games to spare.
If Dorchester win their last 3 games , then they'll be in the play offs. Totton have now got closer than expected to Merthyr and so will definitely need the win at Frome in their final game.
Plymouth are third in the form guide with four wins from six.
It's very hard to see a way out of this. and our collapse of form in recent weeks has been utterly alarming, soul destroying and somewhat out of the blue, when at one stage it looked like we h…
