Steve Jupp, BA11's Club Historian, discusses a long-awaited return to Lodge Road.
The Robins kick-off a busy Bank Holiday weekend double-header on Saturday with a first visit in over a decade to Yate Town, a side relegated from Premier Division South last season.
Danny Greaves will be without suspended pair Reece Rusher (three games) and Warren Maidment (one game) but he will be able to call upon the services of Jon Davies whose three match ban from April's red card at Totton last season has now been served.
Both teams are in the similar position of being winless in the league (Yate having lost 0-2 at Bashley and 2-3 at home to Malvern) but both recorded welcome away successes in the FA Cup last weekend, the Robins hitting six in football's most prestigious knock-out competition for the first time since the early 1960s.
Although the Bluebells have been Southern League members for some twenty years, past meetings have been few and far between with goals (especially in league encounters) coming at a real premium. In the two campaigns following Frome's elevation from the Western League in 2009, all four fixtures ended goalless.
One season later, in a Red Insurance Cup tie at Lodge Road, the dam burst as the Robins romped to a 6-2 triumph with Dean Evans (two), Luke Ballinger (two), Ryan Bennett and Ricky Hulbert on target.
Look out for a familiar face in the Yate line-up, that of Chris Peck who served Frome well in making some 78 appearances during a recent three-year stint.
Match Details For those who plan on travelling to the game, tickets can be purchased for the following prices according to Yate's website - Adults: £12 - Concessions (OAP, Students & NHS): £8 - Youth (11-17): £5 - Under 11's: FREE.
Don't miss the chance to book tickets for our upcoming home fixtures including a Bank Holiday derby clash against the Larks.
