Weston-super-Mare 1-2 Frome

Updated: Feb 2, 2022

Two late goals from Ollis and Mannings see us progress onto the semi-final of the Somerset Cup, after a 2-1 win over the current holders Weston-super-Mare.

The first half saw both sides have chances to go in front, but it wasn't until the 37th minute when a breakaway goal from Moulden was converted to put us one down at half time. The second half saw a continuation of chances at both ends. Then on 81 minutes James Ollis intercepted a back pass to round the keeper to score to get us back into the match. As the game headed towards the final few minutes Weston had a great chance to win the match. However Kane Simpson was alert to read another back pass where he squared the ball across to Rex Mannings to put home the winner.

The remaining three other quarter final matches will take place on the 15th February and we will know our semi final opponents following the completion of those matches.
