We are disappointed to announce the departure of Tyler Ashmead who has agreed to join Western League side, Clevedon Town following an approach late last week.
Tyler has been working incredibly hard to recover from an horrific knee injury sustained in our Somerset Cup semi-final against Bath City last March and has just returned to full contact training.
Danny Greaves had this to say on Tyler's departure: "As a club, we are disappointed to lose a player of Tyler's undoubted quality. He was magnificent when he came in last December, and we hadn't seen the best of him as he was still regaining fitness following his injury. Whilst I am sad to see him go, I can't wait to see him back on the football pitch, even though it will not be for Frome. He has worked so hard, having been so unlucky with a number of serious, long-term injuries over the past three years. I fully understand his desire to play locally for his hometown club whilst he regains form and confidence. I wish him nothing but the best of luck and I hope he has success in the future. We have agreed to hold his Southern League registration in the hope we may yet see him return in the future."
