Danny Greaves was left frustrated with Frome’s inconsistency, as their stuttering start to the season continued with a 3-0 defeat at Taunton Town.
The Robins seems to be on top in the opening stages of the match, as Ryan Bath missed the chance to put them in front. Ollie Knowles conceded a penalty after 23 minutes, which Rocky Neal dispatched to give the hosts a lead that they wouldn’t relinquish.
Kane Simpson nearly brought the scores level before the break, as his shot from Dan Demkiv’s cross smacked the goal frame.
On-loan James Carey had a busy afternoon, he prevented The Peacocks from furthering their lead after stopping Craig Veal in his tracks. Carey couldn’t stop Taunton extend their advantage as Ollie Chamberlain nodded home.
Frome struggled to create any real clear-cut chances as the hosts dominated proceedings, the whole complete their victory after Neal cheekily chipped over an on-rushing Carey to consign The Robins to a 3-0 defeat.
Robins manager Greaves said; “It was a disappointing result today against a side who will be up there come April.
“Although results have been inconsistent, performance levels have generally been good and improving. I know where we are as a group, and know what we need to do, which may take time a patience as this is a young group. However I also analyse the performances as well as results, and if we play as we did today we will pick up points.”
