Squad update: 4/03

The following message is from our Manager Danny Greaves ahead of our match today away to Lymington.

"Over the past few weeks we have seen a number of injuries and a few arrivals, which I would like to update you on:

George Rigg (hamstring) is in contention for today's game against Lymington having joined in with part of the session with the main group this week. Tyler Ashmead (hamstring) was due to return to light training this week, but following an assessment this has been delayed by at least one week, so it maybe another 7-10 days before he is available for selection. Tyson Pollard (ankle) was able to carry out very light individual training away from the main group this week. We are hopeful he will be available for selection within 7 days Warren Maidment (knee) picked up his injury against Wimborne 2 weeks ago. We fear it is an MCL ligament injury which may need 4-6 weeks rehabilitation. We will know more following the results of a scan taking place today. Our thanks go to the Supporters Club who have once again stepped up to fund this scan. This will give us a very clear idea on the severity of the injury and will enable the medical team to prepare the right rehab plan. Ben Withey (calf) picked up his injury last week against Bideford, and is likely to miss the next 7-10 days. Matt Smith (ACL - severe) has been confirmed that he will miss the remainder of the season with the injury sustained on the opening day.

We have recently signed Sam Meakes a young forward from Bath University who has senior experience with Hitchin and St Albans.

Last week we introduced central defender Pierce Mitchell to the squad which will be an excellent acquisition, bringing much needed experience and ability into the squad. Over the next week we are hopeful of adding at least one, hopefully 2 new faces into the group to ensure we have the strength in depth to be competitive in 14 games in the remaining 7 weeks.

This is a massive period in our season with 14 huge league games, 7 of which are at home, plus an exciting cup semi final against Bath City.

Please continue to get behind the lads as you always do until the end."
