REACTION: Greaves is hoping that The Robins can come back stronger after relegation

Manager Danny Greaves would like apologise to The Robins faithful as his squad were relegated from the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier South.

The Robins' hopes of survival were finally extinguished after they lost 1-0 against Hartley Wintney on Saturday.

Greaves said: "I would like to apologise to those loyal fans who have seen the club rise to its highest level ever and have seen that come to an end today. I take full responsibility as I am the manager of the team and ultimately we have not been good enough over the season.

"Over the last 6 weeks or so, I cannot fault the players attitude and desire to try and keep this club up. I do believe we have a core and good foundations to build upon and ensure we come back stronger.

"We do have lots of good things happening behind the scenes, and with a good crop of youngsters, and plenty of hard work which has already begun, we will come back stronger as a club.

"Today summed up our season. We were well in the game, it was fairly even over the course of the 90 minutes, but not being able to take one of our three or four chances, and then being punished at the other end for a mistake."
