REPORT: Poole Town 3-0 Frome Town

A brace from Jake Scrimshaw helped consign The Robins to a damaging 3-0 defeat away at The BlackGold Stadium.

The game began at a rather pedestrian pace but the deadlock was broken in the 8th minute when Scrinshaw found himself unmarked at the back of the area and drove low into the corner past Rob Brown.

He doubled their lead in the 24th minute when again he was found in space in the area to convert a free header. Frome’s first chance fell to Tom Mehew who shot over from the edge of the area.

A couple of corners and free kicks were wasted and the first half drew to a disappointing end.

Danny Greaves made 3 changes at half time with TJ Davies, Tristan Plummer and Alex Monks coming on and the second half, with nothing to lose, started more brightly as Frome tried to get back into the game.

Whilst they enjoyed more possession in forward areas there were few clear chances and the half chances that they did create cake to nothing.

In the 52nd minute a Poole defender received a second yellow card but Frome were unable to make the man advantage count and it was Poole that scored their 3rd after a miskick by the Frome keeper fell to the opposition and the striker made no mistake with a finish into the top corner.

Overall a disappointing performance that will need to be improved on if Frome are to be successful in their bid for survival.

Frome’s man of the match was Connor Roberts who was his usual 100% throughout.

The Robins XI: Brown, K Miller, Teale, Knowles, Mapstone, Roberts, Mehew, Morgan-Williams (Monks '45), Bath (Plummer 45'), Mannings, Gorman (Davis 45')

Subs Not Used: Greaves, R Scott
