New chairman appointed - Derek Graham

We are delighted to reveal some of the changes happening behind the scenes since our announcements earlier in the year. Derek Graham has been acting as our interim Chairman for the last few months and has now gladly accepted the role on a permanent basis. The following statement from Mr Graham gives us all renewed hope of the club's continued direction and positive signs of growth.

“Dear Supporters,

I’m writing to you all for the first time since Mr Alderman resigned at the end of last season. Since that point, I have been acting as interim Chairman to better understand the club’s business plan, financial situation and desire to build for the future. Now I feel is the right time to accept the club’s offer to take over on a permanent basis. I will be making further announcements about the shape of the new board, with at least 2 new directors joining us later this week. I am also very appreciative that Gary Collinson and Brian Stevens have agreed to stay on the Board as directors, at a time when they both could have quite easily walked away. I would also like to thank Scott Fitzgibbon who has been a rock for the club during this time.

The new board is clear in what we want - a unified Frome Town FC. Joining everyone together from the youth team to our Supporters Club. We have been working hard on building meaningful relationships with all elements of the wider club, and I’m pleased to report that they are all with us. We will now go forward as a unified team, working together to rebuild Frome Town FC after these awful trying times of Coronavirus!

This club is about the community and it’s something that will be core to my beliefs about the club. Yesterday‘s amazing open day is the start of many events of showcasing how we want to include the community in our future. It was an amazing day and made me proud to be involved with the club in these exciting times on our horizon.

The season is fast approaching, but first we look forward to the home game against Yeovil, where I will be available to speak to you all. If anyone wants to talk about offering support, to meet the new Board or just have a chat please come and find us.

We are ready to battle to get this club playing at the level you want, getting back to where we were, and maybe higher. But we need your help along the way.

I can assure you as the new Chairman of this great club. I will remain approachable and available to anyone who wants to help or provide support. I’m delighted to be taking on this role and excited for the challenges that lie ahead.”
