Frome Town FC are delighted to announce that Marcus Mapstone will remain with the club for the 2020/21 season.

The defender has made over a century of appearances for The Robins since he moved to Badgers Hill from Mangotsfield United.

Mapstone made his debut for the club during a 1-1 draw against Weymouth in October 2015.

Manager Danny Greaves is delighted to have secured the experienced Mapstone for another season.

He said: "Delighted to keep a man with Mapo's experience. He was invaluable for us last season, and put in some superb performances.

"He stepped up to the plate all season, especially in all of the big games which we will need again if we are to be successful this upcoming season."

It was an "easy decision" for Mapstone to decide to re-sign for The Robins as he hopes to deal with the unfinished business of promotion next season.

He said: “Deciding to sign for Frome again was an easy decision. I've been at the club for a fair amount of time now and have really enjoyed it.

"I also feel we have some unfinished business in getting the club back to the Southern Prem”
