We are delighted to welcome Lee Salter to our management team as our Head of Performance.
Lee will join the club in a newly-created role as we look to continue our progression ahead of our return to Step 3. He comes from a football background himself, having represented England at U14s and U15s. Lee has over fifteen years of experience in performance-related roles, working with elite athletes and personnel across a range of sports and environments.
Lee is currently a physical performance contractor at Southampton, as well as running his own facility in Westbury. He will now work alongside the BA11 staff with the objectives of improving performances of the team and the individual players.
Manager Danny Greaves said of Lee's appointment: "We are always looking to be progressive and find those marginal gains, whether that be through scouting, analytics and now, with Lee's expertise, through improving player performance with a specialised strength and conditioning programme. The testing we have done already in the first week back has given me and the players a fascinating insight. Now specific programmes can be built for those players to focus on any areas of weakness and to improve the specific attributes that I feel will be important within our squad's setup. Lee is a vastly experienced and passionate coach and we are delighted to have him as part of our team."
On being appointed, Lee commented: "After meeting and exploring options with Danny and Simmo, I felt we all had some common ground and ideas. Seeing how open they were to improving the club's performance and up-skilling across the department really impressed me. Now it is about building a framework-based approach that everyone at the club can understand and follow. Squeezing everything we can from the lads will be key to Frome's success this season and I am excited to see how everyone responds to this improved provision at the club."
Welcome to BA11 and best of luck in your new role, Lee!
