We are delighted to announce that Striker Kane Simpson has signed a one year deal with the Robins to see him start his 2nd full season with the club.
Simpson, 24, had been in superb form before the lockdown with 8 goals in 12 games, with an overall record of nearly 1 goal in every 2 games. The pacey striker has been in fantastic form over the two disrupted seasons and has grown into a hugely dependable striker grabbing key goals in big games.
Kane commented “It's great to sign my first contract... I’m happy with the team. Greavesy and I have a good relationship and I'm really happy to know that I'll be here for at least this year."

Manager Danny Greaves commented: "I am delighted to have secured Kane’s services for the upcoming season, which is one we hope will be an exciting one for him and the club.
Kane has always been a player to attract interest, and over the past 12 months he has attracted attention from clubs in the league above, and also clubs we have been competing with us at the top end of this division, so it was imperative we looked to tie him down on a contract basis.
We initially brought Kane back to the club from Swindon Supermarine where he scored 4 in 5 starts in the league above part way through last season, but he probably didn’t score the amount of goals which he would have liked for us on his return. But I have to say, I was impressed with his all round game, and knew it was only a matter of time before the goals started to flow once again. I must say credit goes to Kane as he worked hard over the pre-season, improved physically and technically and he was superb for us at the start of this current campaign, scoring 8 in 12 games, and his all round game went up another level.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget Kane has only been playing Southern league football for 4 seasons (2 of which were incomplete), so has only racked up just over 100 games at this level, but in that time he has a goal ratio of just under 1 goal in 2 games. Which is some record for a lad of 24 years old who has progressed from County League football to Southern league football so quickly. The improvement in all areas of his game have been incredible and at a rapid speed. If he continues to improve at this rate he will be some player and will play at the highest levels of non-league football in years to come."
