Steve Jupp, BA11's Club Historian, looks ahead to a massive tie tomorrow evening in the non-league's cup competition!
Friday night football returns to Badgers Hill this weekend with a huge FA Trophy First Round clash against Southern League newcomers Cribbs.
Both sides have battled through three qualifying rounds already to reach this stage. Not only will the winners pocket a handy £3,000 in prize money, but they will also go into the hat with the likes of Torquay and Yeovil in Monday lunchtime's Second Round draw.
Frome fans will be familiar with Cribbs for they provided the opposition on the opening day of the season and 'parked the bus' most effectively, securing a 0-0 draw with a disciplined defensive display.
Since that sunny August afternoon, however, the Robins have found the net in every subsequent match and racked-up an impressive SIX home wins on the bounce.
Cribbs too have impressed so far in their first campaign at Step Four, currently lying sixth in the league and achieving clean sheets in each of their last three outings, but they are up against our own James Ollis who has scored in every round of the Trophy so far.
Something has to give and, if it’s all square after ninety minutes, the drama of a penalty shoot-out will decide.
