Frome Town Ladies moved top of the league with an impressive win against Penmill. They now lead the division on goal difference but have a game in hand over fellow title chasers Purnell.

Frome Town Ladies welcomed Penmill Reserves to Badgers Hill brimming with confidence from their previous weeks win and the game started with Frome pushing for an early goal right from the kick off.
That goal came on 9 minutes as Frome piled on the pressure with Penmill only half clearing leaving Underhill to hammer home the first goal from 10 yards out. Frome looked full of goals and struck their 2nd 1 minute later when Christmas played in Seviour to forcefully strike past the Penmill number 1. Wave after wave of Frome attacks continued as Penmill struggled to get the ball into the Frome half and on 14 minutes Petteford’s shot unluckily cannoned off the cross bar. Soon after Underhill tried her luck with her left boot who’s goalward shot got diverted past the Penmill keeper by Christmas.
Frome now 3-0 up eased up for 20 minutes giving the Penmill keeper and defence a thankful breather but right on 35 minutes Petteford got through 1 on 1 with the keeper and calmly scored her first for the season. 10 minutes to half time and Petteford hits the bar for the second time and Ratcliffe joined the attack only to see her shot creep wide of the post, then right on 45 minutes Petteford’s effort was saved falling kindly for Seviour to bag her 2nd.
After Justin and Tim’s halftime talk the Ladies started the second half with more zip, pushing Penmill back and always looking a threat. Petteford’s shot within 2 minutes forced a good save and seconds later Isaacson broke free on the left firing a fierce shot forced a good save but in the right place Petteford followed in to get Frome’s 6th and her 2nd. 5 minutes later Underhill struck her 2nd of the game leaving the keeper no chance with a fine strike.
With still 30 minutes to play Edwards got her name on the score sheet with a delightful chip from the edge of the area. Isaacson a threat all game scored 2 more goals in 10 minutes to take Frome’s tally for the afternoon to 10 and the impressive Underhill swept home her hatrick goal on 85 minutes after great forward passing between Bristow and Christmas.
Player of the match was awarded to Petteford for her unselfish work all game and her 2 goals. Next week the ladies have a tough away fixture against Burnham
