Frome Town 3 - 1 Cirencester Town

Updated: Sep 17

Frome Town set up an away tie at Bemerton Heath Harlequins after a strong 3-1 victory over Cirencester.

.After just three minutes, Frome started perfectly when a Joe Budd through-ball found striker Ben Griffith, who fired past the Centurion’s experienced keeper, Nelson, to give Frome a 1-0 lead.

Frome continued to dominate possession and create chances as the impressive wing-back duo of Drew and Staley found space out wide, as well as the attacking trio of Ollis, Davies and Griffith linking up well either side of half-time.

In the fiftieth minute, Pierce Mitchell’s shot was saved only for Matt Wood to fire in rebound for the Robins’ second.

Cirencester grabbed a goal back when Kyle Phillips tipped a long-distance shot onto the crossbar, but the ball stumbled it's way into the back of the net.

Frome came close when a Sam Teale cross found Ollis, his header just over the bar, but as stoppage time approached, the striker smartly controlled and calmly finished to help seal a fifth consecutive win for the home side.
