Frome began the season with a frustrating goalless draw at home to newly-promoted Cribbs in the Southern League's Division 1 South.
Frome dominated the game from start to finish with the performance just missing a goal. The Robins started strongly when Ollis fired his early chance just wide of the post. The home side were regularly finding entry into Cribbs' box but the visitor's defence remained solid.
A Reece Rusher corner was excellently controlled by Warren Maidment to create an opportunity before Cribbs goalkeeper Brown pulled off a wonderful stop to deny the effort. After the interval, Frome kept producing chances, as Ollis, Rusher, substitute Griffith and Monks all went close, but to no avail.
On another day, Frome would have taken all maximum points given the chances on offer and the side will be looking to capitalise on Tuesday when we travel to Bemerton Heath Harlequins for an evening kick off at 1945. Frome's next home game is against Larkhall on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August.
MAN OF THE MATCH: Warren Maidment.

Frome desperately miss the skill of Jon Davies if , as today , he was missing - this time through suspension. There is simply no one who can replace his creative abilities. Several of our 'talented' players were a little disappointing today against a very stern and robust opponent who thoroughly deserved their point. Both defences played very well, with our back three of Wood , Maidment & Teale all excellent.
For me, Reece Rusher looked by far the most likely to break the deadlock with his fizzing crosses but he was surprisingly hooked late on.
The Robins will certainly need to improve if they have play off aspiration's again this season.
