Following today’s defeat 3-0 away to Taunton. Manager Danny Greaves felt disappointed but remains upbeat about the progress the team is making.
DG - “Disappointing result today against a side who will be up there come April.
It was another one of those days when we played well, had good possession which led to us creating a number of good opportunities. Unfortunately we didn't take advantage during our spell of dominance in the opening 45 minutes, which ultimately cost us.
We then have a decision go against us with a penalty given for handball which was harsh to say the least and we go in 1-0 down. We then conceed from a second phase from a corner mid way through the second half and the third was the last kick of the game as we throw men forward. So the score line does not reflect the game, but that is the ruthlessness of this league.
Although results have been inconsistent, performance levels have generally been good and improving. I know where we are as a group, and know what we need to do, which may take time a patience as this is a young group. However I also analyse the performances as well as results, and if we play as we did today we will pick up points.
We now move on to training in the week and then a tough game against Harrow Borough on Saturday, who have picked up a few positive results of late, followed by Wimborne a week Tuesday night away.
Thanks to those supporters who made it out today, and hope to see as many as possible next Saturday as your supports is appreciated and does make a difference.
