The end of the month sees our chairman Derek Graham provide an update from our board to keep all of our supporters and partners, helping you keep up to date with the clubs progress. Please get in contact if you have any comments or suggestions.
"Well what can I say, it's been a while since we have been able to get excited about football here in Frome. But with the amazing win from England against the old rivals Germany, with the potential of 'Football coming home' one step closer, it was great to see the clubhouse busy with football fans and it's already a sell out this Saturday. But amongst the nations celebrations we've been hard at work to get ready for the season ahead. So let's dive straight in! Board update
First, I want to welcome Scott Fitzgibbon to the Board of Directors. Scott does an amazing amount of work to promote the club through the various club channels and is one of the driving forces behind some of our key engagement initiatives. Scott will be our Marketing and Communications Director on the board. The other members of the board know that he will be a valuable member and we were delighted when he accepted our invitation.
Win a car!
There is so much going on, that it is difficult to know where to start.I hope you will all have now seen the amazing prize draw we are running in conjunction with Platinum Motor Group. Winning a brand new car for a fiver can’t be a bad punt to help the club and Fair Frome We really need everyone to share this around all their friends/family/work colleagues and to get them to share it further. We’ve got a big target to reach, but I am sure this is the sort of prize to grab everyone’s attention. A big thank you to Platinum Motor Group for their support in using their advertising clout to spread the word. They will also have some cars for you to have a look at on the Fun Day.
Paint the town Red and White - Saturday 3rd - 9am
Before the Fun Day we have the working party initiative to spruce up the ground before the start of the season. This Saturday you can just turn up from 9 a.m. with a big paintbrush and old clothes. We will provide the paint, and there is even a rumour there might be the odd bacon roll and coffee flying around. I want to thank John and Gordon for the amazing amount of work they have done already.
We are also sprucing up our signage and it should look really good by the time we kick off the season.
#BA11 Live
The Fun Day is proving immensely popular with the kids training session fully booked, with a waiting list. A big thanks to Danny and the team for giving up their time to lead the training sessions.
Still some spaces left for the adult keep fit session, so ladies (and gents!) dust of the leotards and come on down. I promise you it will be fun. In addition to Platinum Motors there will be a range of other stalls around the ground, including a variety of food outlets.
In the afternoon there is a great selection of live music in the clubhouse. Due to the continuing Covid restrictions numbers are limited and it remains table service only. Make sure you get there early for a seat. Donna and the rest of the clubhouse staff look forward to welcoming you all, and if you want you can stay on to watch the footie on the big screen.
Football begins....
And we have live football starting! Tuesday 6 July sees us kick off against Bath City in what should be a stretching friendly. Tickets are going well with over 100 sold, and make sure you book in advance to save money. All the home friendlies are at the very reasonable price of £5 if booked online, and £7 on the gate. Not only do you save money if you buy in advance, but administratively it makes life a lot easier. We need your help, if you know of anyone that loves football, let’s try and get them down for the Bath City fixture and show them what it’s like to follow their local team!
Friendly match sponsors
We are on the look out for matchday sponsors (£200) and matchball sponsors (£80) for the upcoming 4 friendlies. Please let us know if you can help and both sponsors get a range of tickets provided, drinks and great exposure across the matches and social media.
FA Cup
We are pleased to announce the we will enter the FA Cup at the Preliminary round. Our away friendly against Taunton is now confirmed as our final friendly of the preseason.
New faces around the club
Over the last couple of months we have made some new appointments to a number of roles. I want to welcome everyone who has joined us and look forward to seeing them at our games.
Gl Hart - Programme Editor
Dan Evans - Matchday reporter
Luke Milligan - Video highlights
In addition Steve McCarthy has accepted the position of being our official club photographer, Alice Starr will be providing more updates from the Frome Town Women's team as their season gets underway.
We are still recruiting for some positions and will be in touch with those that have applied. For those that have been unsuccessful in their applications, please don't be disheartened. The quality of applications for each position has been seriously high. Which just goes to show we must be doing something right! We hope that everyone keeps an eye out for where they could help.
Commercial focus
There is no escaping the fact that financially it has been a difficult 12-15 months. An awful lot of hard work has gone into ensuring we meet our financial obligations. However, going forward we now have a balanced budget for this season, but things are still very tight and looking for further ways to generate income. This is why more than ever sponsorship, whether perimeter boards, match days, team kit etc is just so vital for a small club like us. We will be launching the players sponsors initiative shortly, and I know you have all been very generous in previous seasons. Please keep it up as we truly appreciate your help!
Season tickets
We've been delighted at the amount of initial take ups on Season tickets, if you do intend to get a season ticket, can we ask you do this at your earliest opportunity.
And finally…
I cannot say how much I am looking forward to once again being able to walk round the ground and welcome you all back to Badger’s Hill."
'Del'
Derek Graham
