Cancelled: Salisbury (fr)

Tuesday 15th December has had it's say and there will not be football at the Robins' Nest tomorrow night.

Following the cancellation of the proposed match vs Hampton and Richmond in the FA Trophy due to COVID forcing the withdrawal of the opposition from the competition. The club looked to arrange a friendly with high flying Salisbury to give the players some much needed action prior to the next round of the FA Trophy and the potential league start.

However, under the guidance of the grounds work team and club management. The amount of rainfall has led to water-logging of areas of the pitch, combined with the slow recovery of the pitch from Friday night's friendly vs Bishop Sutton, has led to a decision to cancel the friendly. As you will know and hopefully can see, we have invested heavily into the pitch over the last few seasons to ensure that postponements and issues are very rare. The club realise that if the league fixtures resume in December/January, we will be placing a high demand on the pitch and would like to ensure as many of our league games can go ahead as possible. We can understand the week's events have been frustrating to all our fans and the club alike. We are starting to process the refunds for both games and hopefully you will understand the predicament the club faced. The club is also still trying to manage the finances of having no football since the 3rd November, we hope that we will have some good news on Wednesday that will enable us to host Melksham Town on Boxing Day.

With this disappointing news we hope that more people can help the club by supporting The Robins and stand the chance to win a cash prize every month in return. December's draw currently has a £325 prize fund (it's increasing!). Find out more at: http://weareba11.com/prizedraw
