Bishop's Cleeve vs. Frome Town: FA Trophy Preview and Ticket Info

Steve Jupp, BA11's Club Historian, briefs the BA11 fanbase ahead of a trip up the motorway and a contest with the Mitres!

One cup campaign may have ended last weekend but Frome Town will be looking to progress in another when they hit the FA Trophy trail once more at Bishop's Cleeve on Saturday.

The Ramsgate tie was their fifth tough fixture in the space of a fortnight and while a replay would have been more than welcome, the silver lining is a whole week for the squad, with just three defeats in their last 20 outings, to recover and recharge batteries.

Currently ninth in the league with three wins and three losses from seven, the Mitres are an entertaining side, averaging over two goals per game at both ends of the park and, to advance to this Third Qualifying Round stage, they have secured home victories over Paulton (6-1) and Bristol Manor Farm (3-2).

The Robins, for their part, have seen-off Cirencester (3-1) and Bemerton Heath Harlequins (3-0) and in addition to a place in the First Round Proper, the winners will also pick up a handy cash prize of £2,450.

There are no replays in the Trophy and should the contest end all-square at ninety minutes, penalties will decide.

For the second week running, Frome will be competing on an artificial pitch but, on the same Kayte Lane surface in the league last season, they ran out 2-0 winners, a scoreline repeated in the Friday night return at Badgers Hill.

Match Details For those who plan on travelling to the game at Kayte Lane, tickets can be purchased on the gate with adult tickets priced at £10, concessions at £7, U18s at £3 and U14s go free according to the latest information provided.
