Bishop Lydeard Scorer: None
Frome Town Ladies Scorer: Maya Saviour
WOM: Maya Saviour
Frome kicked off down hill in the first half and got off to a strong start, forcing two early corners in the 1st ten minutes.
With Bishop Lydeard struggling to get the ball into our half through a robust defence performance. The midfield continued to competw well winning most balls. A good effort from Mae Bristow on 20mins saved well by the home keeper. Half time 0-0
Frome with all the pressure but no cutting edge in the final 3rd. Second half began scrappy for the first 15mins, neither side showing their dominance until Emily Petteford gets a shot on target which seemed to give Frome more urgency in the final 3rd.
Soon after good link up play between Maya Seviour & Emily Petteford put Enna Christmas in on goal rounding the keeper only to be shepherded out for a goal kick.
The break through come as Enna Christmas got in on goal again, this time the keeper and defender just deny her a goal only for the loose ball to be dispatched with venom into the goal from 6 yards by 17 year old Maya Seviour for her first senior goal.
Frome continued to play some lovely passing moves, which left Bishop Lydeard tiring with Frome attacking from all areas again and again. Bishop Lydeard rallied in the last 10mins but a strong Frome defence stood firm to collect the points.
Justin Paget commented "(we have) still things to improve on. But a great start to the season picking up all 3 points"
