We thank our No.17 for his longstanding commitment to the BA11 cause and bid farewell to him and Tom Richards!
The Club is sad to say goodbye to Alex Monks. The midfielder will leave Badgers Hill after seven consecutive seasons with the Robins, until now the second-longest serving player after skipper Sam Teale.
A product of Bristol City's academy, Monksy followed manager Danny Greaves from Bradford Town to Frome in 2018. 215 appearances and 13 goals later, the tough-tackling midfielder, so often the heartbeat of the side, leaves the club as a fan favourite and was named 24-25 Players' Player of the Year after 39 appearances and two goals in the season just gone.

Danny Greaves expressed his gratitude to one of his most trusted players: "I'm obviously very sad to see Monksy leave this summer. He has been with me for a large part of my managerial journey, starting at Bradford and over the past seven seasons at Frome.
"You know what you get with Monksy and he always gives absolutely everything on the pitch to win. He will be missed, but, of course, we respect his desire to stay at Step 3 and wish him all the best."
On his decision to leave the club, Alex said: "I would like to thank everyone associated with Frome Town for everything they have done for me while I have been here, from the management team to the volunteers.
"This really was like a second home to me and it was such a hard decision to leave after such a long time serving the club with over 200 appearances. However, with interest from Step 3 clubs, I felt I needed to try and push myself to be the best player I can be.
"The fans have been the twelfth man for all the years I have been at the club and the support is unmatched so a massive thank you to all of you too!"
The departure of midfielder Tom Richards who made five appearances after signing in March, was also confirmed by Danny Greaves: "We didn't see much of Tom after he joined us during the backend of the season. He has chosen to move on for personal reasons. He is a super lad, and we thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best in his journey, wherever that may take him."
We wish him and Monksy all the best with their careers. Good luck and see you down at Badgers Hill soon!
